2018.09.16 – 日曜日 – Brother’s Birthday Salubong

Sunday’s main event is my brother’s birthday Salubong. We had a lot of things planned, like go to a buffet for lunch or dinner, maybe hit the casino after, or just go for drinks. None of that happened because my brother got sick.

We were already at Century City Mall for unlimited Korean barbecue (dinner) but the queue for the barbecue (can’t stop myself) was too long. We were 19th in line. We went down to Starbucks to pass time, but we ended up getting full from our Venti-sized coffee. Since our stomachs were already full, going for unlimited barbecue wouldn’t be worth it anymore. We headed back home and then my brother got sicker (he was already feeling sick since the morning).

We stayed at home instead and at around 10:30 PM, we realized we only had coffee for dinner. I decided to buy some pork belly at a nearby Korean store so we can do our own Korean barbecue “party” at home. I’m not sure if you could call it a party because there were only three of us (Ralph was the third one).

No queue on this barbecue

The clock struck twelve and it was time for the cake. Just a slice because he’s not eating sugar for now, and neither do I. I know this crepe cake (from Crepe  Amelie) is super delicious though!

Happy birthday brother! Sorry the cake is 30 minutes late.

We called it a night after this since our celebrator is down with a fever.

今日の言葉 – Today’s Word

日曜日 (pronounced nichi-you-bi) is the Japanese word for Sunday. Coincidentally, the kanji 日 means Sun (and also Day, so you see it at the start and end of the word), so that should make it easier for you to memorize!
