Plantito/Plantita Heaven – Mt. Talongon Flower Garden

Last May, I took my mom and sister to a flower garden in Mantalongon, Dalaguete called Mt. Talongon Flower Garden. It was a spontaneous trip really, we decided to go for a road trip to Mantalongon, and then we just happened to pass by the signage that pointed us to this plantito/plantita heaven.

Before that, we stopped over for coffee at KapeTa Coffee Shop in Poblacion, Dalaguete.

Awake from the coffee, we headed up to Mantalongon. It’s been over 3 years since I was last here. Mantalongon is called the mini-Baguio of Cebu, but we don’t like comparing our places to other places so the more apt name is the “Vegetable Basket of Cebu”. And that’s because, a lot of vegetables are grown here! The land is fertile, the temperature cool!

And there’s nothing to do really but to take photos of all of the flowers and soak in the beautiful sight! Can you name the flowers below?

I was surprised to see some Hydrangeas because I’ve only ever seen them in Japan really! There were different kind of sunflowers, and some where already wilted from too much sun! We easily spent an hour going around and taking photos!

Of course we had to be in the photos, too! πŸ™‚

After the visit, we bought some live plants to take home! It was a great way to spend mother’s day – instead of buying “dead” flowers, you take your mom to see “live” flowers and buy plants to grow, too!

I also created a vlog for this trip – check it out below.

Have you been to this flower garden? If you consider yourself a plantito/plantita, I’m sure you’d have a great time here! Leaving you with these two photos! πŸ™‚
