A quickie with the OGs

I had to search for the actual meaning of the word and the first definition is “something done or made in a hurry”. So no, it’s not what you think. Haha!

After almost a year of not seeing any work mates, my friends from my previous group was able to stop by Cebu for a layover, both on their way to and back from Siargao! I call them the OGs because they’re the first batch of associates who joined our team back then! We have bonded over many drinking and karaoke sessions despite our age difference, so I’d say I’m close to them, haha! Back to the event of that day, of course, I had to seize the chance because it may be another while since we’ll get to meet again!

Last Saturday, I received a message at around 8:30 am (good thing I was already awake then) that they were at the airport (in Cebu) and had 2.5 hours to spare. I rushed to the shower and took a cab to meet them. We had brunch at a Korean restaurant called Cookpub in Island Central Mall.

The restaurant opened at 10 and their flight was at 11:30 am so it was a thrill trying to beat time, especially when the orders took a while to be prepared!

Fast forward to today (four days later), on their way back to Manila, they passed by Cebu again for a 3-hour layover. So, I pre-aligned to take the afternoon off so that I can meet up with them! I took them to eat at one of my fave lechon places (Cebu Original Lechon Belly in Parkmall). We crossed the bridge and hoped that we’d make it back early for their flight.

Fresh from Siargao! (L-R: Jas, Me, Kyle, Chim, Julz and Mon)

After eating, they bought some souvenirs/pasalubong, and then we drove back to the airport! Too bad we couldn’t squeeze in coffee (or even a few drinks over happy hour) because time just flew!

Made it to the airport in time!
The sky as I was leaving the airport

On the way back, the sky was beautifully painted by the sunset. I got stuck in traffic on the way home but it made me realize how I miss having human connections outside of my family and my small circle of friends in Cebu! Haha. In fact, right now, I’m reliving our partying days by listening to EDM as I’m blogging this. It’s always a great time with these guys!

Also, they gave me a souvenir from Siargao! Looks so nice, I don’t want to open it. Haha.

In other news, I dyed my hair purple and I get surprised when I see myself in the mirror with dark hair. I didn’t bleach my hair anymore because the top part was still a light blonde color. I like how it turned out!

Purple hair!

That’s all for today – I forced myself to get up from bed to blog this because we gotta be consistent! Haha. Good night!
