2018.09.09 – Circuit Makati

My brother woke me up super early today – like 5:30 in the morning – for breakfast! I got up and prepared some coffee and just chilled like one would on an early Sunday morning. After breakfast, I basically just stayed in my room and spent time on the blog, watched videos on YouTube, but the time was running so slowly! At around 10:30 in the morning, I told my brother to go with me window shopping for a bigger working desk for my room. We had lunch at Glorietta Food Choices, checked out SM and Landmark – but ended up not buying anything because I couldn’t find something good for a reasonable price.

By the river Pasig…

It was still early and we didn’t want to go home yet, so I brought my brother to Circuit Makati – he’s never been there and I thought it’d be a nice place to chill and have some coffee or something. When we got there, we explored the park by the river, even though this was at around 1PM and the sun was right up there! I have always had a connection to river parks because of Japan. I had been envious of their clean river side parks where people would go play, have a picnic, bike or run around, read a book – other things people usually do in parks. In the Philippines, we don’t really have a lot of clean rivers in the city so this area felt promising to me. I could chill here, maybe at 4 in the afternoon when the sun is not as hot.

Pasig River. Look at those clouds!
Sorry for posting this! Haha.

This is a timelapse of some plants getting carried away by the current. Are these lilies or something? Do they end up dying at sea?

Mudpie Heaven – minus the pie

After staying under the sun for thirty minutes, it was time for some coffee and air conditioning! We went into the Circuit Makati Mall to look for a coffee shop. We found a desserts place that serve French Press coffee and beer called Mudpie Heaven.

Cozy interiors

I wanted to stay inside with the air conditioning, but my brother, for whatever reason, wanted to set outside, al fresco, even though I was sweating like crazy. They didn’t have iced coffee too, so I had to drink a hot one – while he had 2 bottles of ice cold beer! I get that he wants to feel the moment (he’s dramatic like that), but I seriously just wanted some cool air blowing into my face. I’m going to have to think twice about hanging out with him again.

French Press coffee, with a piece of bread that I took one bite of.

After we finished our drinks, we went home and I slept for two hours with my bedroom air conditioning on full blast.
