Basic Japanese 1 – Hiragana (TA, CHI, TSU, TE, TO)

Konnichiwa! <- This is how you say hello, or Good Day! in Japanese. πŸ™‚

We’re now on our 4th set of Hiragana characters! We have two “special” pronunciation for the T-series, CHI instead of TI, and TSU instead of TU. Again, no special reason for this other than this is just how Japanese pronunciation is! Keep it in mind!

TA, CHI, TSU, TE, TO

Read out the words in the vocabulary – I purposely did not write them in Romaji or Romanized Letters so that you’ll get used to reading Hiragana right away. You can go back to previous lessons if you’ve forgotten some of the characters already.

Here’s the video again from the same YouTube channel, showing the stroke order and the pronunciation at the same time.

You’ve learned 20 characters already with this set! You have also learned 24 Japanese words using these characters. Keep on writing to familiarize yourself, create those flashcards if needed! Also, if you’re learning through these posts, let me know in the comments! πŸ™‚
