Tokyo Spring 2018 – Day 2 Part 2: Unlimited Sakura!
Before I post the Sakura photos, I’ll take you to the rest of the day first. This really felt like one of the longest days ever, so please bear with the split posts.
Imperial Palace
After walking around at Ueno Park, up next on my itinerary is the Imperial Palace. As my feet are already quite tired, I took the train two stops to Otemachi Station, which was right near the huge compound that is the Imperial Palace. I went through the Otemachi gate, only to find out that what I entered was the Imperial Palace East Garden, cut-off from the Imperial Palace itself.
Tokyo Station
I wanted to see the Imperial Palace so I left the East Garden and walked towards the Imperial Palace. But along the way, I saw Tokyo Station nearby – it has that unique architecture which reminded me of the Rurouni Kenshin era, British influence, but very Imperial Japanese! Since this was nearer, I ended up changing directions.
My feet were already killing me as of this point, and I badly wanted to sit down. I checked my step counter and I was already at 28,000! I looked for a coffee shop nearby, but didn’t like the one I saw outside. I sat down for a while, searched the Internet for a coffee shop, and realized it was just under the building. I ended up at a cafe called Tokyo City Cafe (such a creative name). The Iced Cafe Latte was to die for, it arrived at the time I needed it most.
Hibiya Park
After resting for around 30 minutes, I had to rush to Hibiya Park because I already wanted to return to the hostel and rest. As I was already in the area, I had to go, otherwise, I would miss out on it again this time. There’s nothing special about the park that I wanted to see really – I just wanted to see it and tick it off my parks to visit in Tokyo!
I stopped by for one more Lugia raid (at the Ministry of Justice) – and to my surprise, we were not sent away by the guards for crowding at the gate for a game. If this was in the Philippines, it would be a different story. I didn’t go to the Imperial Palace anymore because my feet were giving up on me.
Time for Sakura close-ups
So, I wanted to lump all of the Sakura photos together, mainly because it’s hard to tag which photo is from which place. And because they all look so nice clumped up together! I saved the main event for last!
These do not require any captions. There are different kinds (variants?) of cherry blossoms, but they’re all Sakura in general. Haha. I like the pink draping ones the most!
I think I’ve had enough Sakura to last me the week, to be honest. But I can’t wait to visit places that have lesser people, too. So that I can have my one-on-one with these wonderful trees! Until tomorow! Ja neee!
sorry I’m such a stalker…it’s just that I’m soooooo jealous!
